Department Introduction
In the new millennium of the 21st century, the design industry has become synonymous with the creation of high-value-added products around the world. In particular, the home furnishing design industry has been given a position and role as a discipline that requires advanced science and technology and the functional utilization of materials and space and has been exerting a lot of influence on society and culture. The Department of Living Furniture Design aims to foster creative designers by acquiring basic professional knowledge, expression methods, and production techniques, as well as computer application and expression skills in an informationized system that can meet these needs. In addition, the department aims to strengthen educational competitiveness through professional vocational education in furniture design and industry-academia-centered education and to conduct creative and future-oriented education to realize the university's mission and vision of a practice-oriented professional training university representing Korea.

Enabling professionals to lead the 21st-century furniture design industry through specialized education
- Training furniture designers based on national occupational competency standards
- Teaching computer application skills required by industry and practical skills for furniture design development
- Contribute to employment activation by realizing education through industry-university collaboration and customized programs
- Fostering design professionals for the furniture industry through professional ethics, personality development, essential skills development, and activating venture clubs and competitions to strengthen competitiveness.
